Directions

From Edinburgh: View map

Over the Forth Road Bridge for Perth. Before Perth follow signs for the A9 to Inverness and turn off to the left at Dalwhinnie and follow directions for Spean Bridge. From there, turn right, following directions for Kyle of Lochalsh until you arrive at Shiel Bridge (16 miles south of Kyle). After passing Shiel Shop & Service Station, road signs will indicate a left turn for Glenelg at Shiel Bridge* (Total 200 miles approx 4.5 hours)

 

From Glasgow: View map

Take the A82 to Crianlarich, then via Tyndrum, Bridge of Orchy, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, Fort William, Spean Bridge and alongside Loch Lochy to Invergarry. At Invergarry turn left onto the A87 towards Skye until you arrive at Shiel Bridge. After passing Shiel Shop & Service Station, road signs will indicate a left turn for Glenelg at Shiel Bridge* (4 hours approx)

 

From Inverness: View map

Take the A82 to Invermoriston and turn right onto the A887. Near Cluanie Dam, this road meets up with and becomes the A87 and leads directly to Shiel Bridge. After passing Shiel Shop & Service Station, road signs will indicate a left turn for Glenelg at Shiel Bridge*

 

*It's 9 miles from Shiel Bridge, over the Mam Ratagan pass to Glenelg. At the village junction, carry on for Berenera beach and the Skye Ferry or turn left for the Village. Carry on through the village a further 10 miles for Arnisdale and a mile after that the road ends at Corran.
